I'm so excited to finally share the first installment of my newsletter, Romance with a Side of Science. Each month I'll be sharing updates on what I'm currently writing (once I take off the lab coat), some book recommendations—mostly in the form of what I'm currently reading—because this is when I get truly excited about a book (plus it's a safer way to ensure no spoilers!), and then "a side of science." Spring is finally here! You may not know it yet, but spring, some 20+ years ago, was when I first met the LOVE OF MY LIFE. At the place least expected and a time... even more unexpected. It's my birthday + why I love having a team

 It's my birthday this month. And as the fact that I'm a year older sinks in—even though I feel exactly the same as I did last year—I take some time to reflect on the things I'd like to do differently this year. A big one being spending more time with family.
Work can be a wonderful thing, especially when you do something you love, and I truly love working as a scientist. It keeps me busy, challenges me, helps me step out of my comfort zone, keeps the creative juices flowing and inspires new stories. But for me, family has to come first...
