Emma Aiseman is my pen name, devoted to my romance writing.
I live in New Jersey with the loves of my life – my husband and our three amazing children (and our tiny yet mighty puppy).
I am a scientist by day, not because I have to keep my day job, but because I love science, and I truly believe that doing both (science and art) has a special synergistic effect.
I have a PhD in biochemistry, postdoctoral fellowships in the field of epigenetics and human disease, and have been fortunate to work with quite a few outstanding mentors who have guided me along the way. I am passionate about research and new discoveries, especially when it involves questioning central dogmas.
I am a writer by night – writing is part of who I am. I write because it makes me happy and because I just can’t not write. I’ve been writing fiction since learning the alphabet, in different languages. During high school I worked as a teen journalist at an international teen magazine. I also wrote and published a children’s book as a young adult.
The first time I picked up a romantic comedy novel (well, one might argue it picked me), that book kept me up all night, put a big smile on my face, made me blush, made me laugh, and made me wish I could read it for the first time all over again. And before I knew it, I was transported back to my bookworm phase, and feel-good romance became my favorite genre. Then came the uncontrollable itch to write something new again! So here I am.
